letter 27: it's too late to turn back now

hi beautiful beings,

i’m ngl, last week was a doozy for me.

i remember hearing from just about everyone when I quit my corporate job to pursue building GC full-time that I could '“always just get another job”. I always took that advice with a grain of salt because I was set on never having to work for anyone else ever again. but, truth is, after many months of ‘swinging it’, dedicating myself to writing the book, and living off of my savings-i am yearning for stability.

i’ve been applying to jobs nonstop and have made it to a few rounds of interviews, but last week was the moment I realized that I don’t think I could ever work a conventional job, even if I wanted to. the cherry on top was being rejected to work for a company that actively uses my story on their platform as a way to inspire their clients. in other words, to them my work can serve as a case study for success, but I wasn’t good enough to make the cut. the contradiction itself felt so intense that it shook me up, in the best way.

it became more clear than ever that I don’t really have a choice but to keep charting my own lane. i’m too far down the path to turn back now, even though a big part of me is craving the predictability, benefits, and steady paycheck that would come with a 9-5 job. with that said, there are a few endeavors that i’ve been wanting to lean into for years but haven’t for one reason or another and i’ve decided to bring them to life. like…very soon. so, stay tuned for that!

in the meantime, remember, once you “brave the wilderness” (as coined by Dr. Brené Brown) there’s no turning back. it’s scary af, but there’s a reason you (and I) embarked on the journey to begin with. let’s allow that truth to hold us through as we wait for the universe to bring forth everything we’ve manifested.

with love,

Cat, a gal tryin’ her best
